Welcome to N.U.I Galways SnowSports club, one of the largest SnowSports club in Ireland.
NUIG SnowSports was established in 2007 and its popularity and reputation has continued to grow dramatically ever since. With over 800 members, training trips every month, a main skiing holiday away to a foreign country (this year it was Alpe D'Huez, France) hoodies with individual names, t-shirts, chances to win snowboards, ski equipment, social nights, themed nights and a free spot on the main trip it is surely the club not to be missed out on. It has high expectations as it is becoming one of the college's biggest & best clubs.
NUIG Ski & Snowboard Club gives students and staff the opportunity to either learn the basics or perfect their alpine freestyle. Skiiers and snowboarders of all levels are always welcome to join.

NUIG Ski & Snowboard is a newly founded club, established in 2007. With over 850 members, training trips away every month, a main skiing trip away to a foreign country (this year Val d'Isere in the French Alps 5th-12th Jan) hoodies with individual names, t-shirts, chances to win snowboards, ski equipment and a free place on the main trip, its a club that cannot be overlooked. It has high expectations to become one of the college's biggest & best clubs.

NUIG SnowSports club has rapidly become one of the largest and most successful Ski clubs in Ireland. Its student attendance has continued to grow, reaching 123 representing NUIG in the French Alps last christmas, 60 NUIG students traveling to Dublin for a single training event and 30 students representing and aiding in NUIG taking 3rd at our Inter-varsities in Dublin the year before last. In October, the club will, once again, run the “The SnowSports Challenge” , a 3 week long event which awards a single student with an all inclusive holiday to Val d'iere in the French Alps . With the success and experience of the last number of years, the SnowSports club have paved a path for the year to come with ideas already in place and more been formulated as the year continues.
Annual intervarsities are held in Kilternan Dublin, all are welcome from complete beginners to experienced pros. You can choose to enter in many events throughout the day from slalom time trials to relay races to freestyle events or you may simply choose to sit by enjoy a BBQ and support your team. What ever your level you are welcome to come along. This year 2011 NUIG SnowSports club walked away with 3rd place at the Intervarsities making NUIG the first college outside of the Dublin region to place in the Top 3. Every second Thursday we depart NUIG Campus at 4:00 by bus.
Arrive at our Training grounds (Kilternan) up in the Wicklow Mts before 7pm.
All equipment, safety gear & instructor hire supplied.
Return after 2 hour training session on the slopes.
Bus returns to NUIG campus before midnight with a few refreshments onboard.
