About
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines fighting with music and dance. Beginners are always welcome.Classes will be taught by Contra Mestre Mola who has over 20 years of experience in Capoeira. In these classes you will be taught various attacks, defences, takedowns and some simple acrobatic movements. Capoeira is a non-contact martial art although takedowns are used, but very rarely. The group which teaches in the college is Grupo Candeias de Capoeira which has very expressive movements and a very unique style. Grupo Candeias is relatively young in relation to the founding groups but has already become one of the largest groups in Brazil. Mestre Suino is the president of Grupo Candeias has been in Ireland on many occasions for various events, one of which was in May 2011 for an event in Galway and Westport.

History
Autumn 2009 saw us begin having the first capoeira training sessions. We hope to grow as the year proceeds, and as the years advance. Since the begining of 2011 we have now had three successful events which saw Mestres from Brazil and Professors from around Europe attend including Mestre Suino, Mestre Piau and Mestre Maxwel.
We now hope to have more events in the coming year which anyone can attend.
